Holiday Fun with Felt......

I love felt, the wool kind is nice but I love the bright colored squares you can buy from the craft store best! Some of my favorite Christmas ornaments from my family's tree growing up were a set of felt & sequin ornaments my Great Grandmother made for us. My mother would keep them packed safe in a box all of their own and they were normally the last ones to be put on the tree before the tinsel.
I decided this year I wanted some special felt ornaments to add to my family's tree! I began looking around and I found this wonderful owl tutorial & free pattern from the Fabulous Anna Maria Horner's Blog check out this felt garland as well!

Very simple supplies

Easy to follow instructions & a pattern you can print!

This is my first experience with a blanket stitch.

I am getting quite the little pile going.

I love how they look on my tree!

Now that I am completely addicted to these little owls I found this when browsing Sandi Henderson's blog last night! Another felt project, she has just released a fun new little pattern Birds of a Feather I must start these at once. I will however be adding a little bling to mine you can never have too many sequins.

As my husband once put it to me it looks Mardigras blew up on our Christmas tree, but I can't help it I love color! He & my son enjoy it too!

Here is a peek at my tree!

Hope you are enjoying your Holiday Season! Meg

Oh Baby!!!!

It seems I have babies on the mind lately my son will be 5 in December and I am starting to get that baby itch! Oh well in time I guess.....

Remember when I posted these well I created them for a M. Miller Baby Bootie contest and at the time my girl friend had just found out she was having a little girl! I have been counting down the days until they fit her tiny feet. She was over the other day and I tried and they finally fit I was so excited I had to take pictures. I love her little baby legs!

I was inspired by a post Anna Maria Horner did a while ago on a gift she created for her daughter! I love homemade gifts and I have wanted to try to make a carry along baby bed for a while but I have not had a little girl to make one for. Well I guess it got the better of me and I drew up a pattern and made this. I love how it turned out.

I even made a matching mini quilt and pillow!

Have you seen the new line of fabrics Sugar Snap from Melissa Averinos it is simply Yummy!! I have been waiting for it to hit the stores. I ordered mine from Jona and it arrived this weekend, I have already started playing. I love the colors.

Here is a peek at the flap I have done it will go on a purse.

I hope to have it finished tomorrow!

More to come soon! Meg

Ready or Not........

Well my craft show is tomorrow and I never truly feel ready for these things! I have been reviewing what else I might need and I may end up sewing something up tonight, I am having the urge but I am trying to control it!
My table will have a holiday theme but not many of my products are holiday I try and have a mix of everything. I will take pick of my table so you can see.

I did this purse the other day with my new Ava Rose fabric from Tanya Whelan of Grand Revival I love how it turned out. I really like the sash bows, I could add them to everything.

Here are most of the bags I have done.

I love how all the straps look lined up, they are so colorful!

Wish me luck! Meg

Faux Finishes & Progress

I am busy getting ready for a craft fair that is this weekend and busy fighting off the sinus infection and ear ache I just can't seem to get rid of!

I wanted to share a few of the little piles of goodies I am creating to sell at the show!

All packed up!
Key Fobs
Pretty Tissue Holders
Coin Purses w/ pearl snaps
I think they look so pretty all together!

Still more to come on my progress.....

On another note I wanted to share a fun faux finish technique I did on a frame I painted for a memo board.

First I started off with a plain wooden frame and painted it my desired color.

Then I choose another color for the accent.

I used this pretty felt trim from Heather Bailey's Scrap booking collection

Then I used a paint brush and painted the trim

(I used a paper plate to contain the mess)

Then lay the trim down on to the frame

Using a paper towel so you don't get the paint all over your

hand, then press lightly.

Lift off trim and you should have a print of the felt image on the frame.

Continue all around the frame until you get the look you want.

For mine I overlapped the images.

Now it is done!

Use to frame family photos or with my Framed memo board tutorial!

Here is a peek at what I will have in my frame!

Happy Crafting! Meg
